Submission Criteria & Formatting
Eligibility

Authors must be current undergraduate students at Bishop's University or submitting an article which was written while enrolled as an undergraduate.

Authors from all programs are invited to submit their work.

Submissions written in conjunction with other students or faculty require the consent of all co-authors.

Submissions originally written as coursework are eligible. However, these submissions must have already received a final grade.

Submissions must not already be published or under peer-review in another publication.
Formatting

12-point font Times New Roman

There is no hard word limit, but we suggest that submissions do not exceed 5000 words.

Submissions in English are highly encouraged. However, submissions in French will also be evaluated with equal consideration.

Please do not include any identifying information in the document. Instead, include your name, program, and year of graduation in the body of your email.
Evaluation Criteria

Submissions must be formatted as a formal research paper appropriate to the respective discipline. Sections should be divided using subheadings and include sections on a literature review, methodology, results and/or discussion when appropriate.

Submissions must feature an identifiable research question and thesis.

BURJ evaluates submissions based on novelty and rigor. All submissions should present original findings or an original analysis of current literature.

All contributors are required to fully disclose any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the creation, analysis, or presentation of their research.
